Who qualifies for LAP-BAND System surgery?

  • Patients with a BMI > 40
  • Patients with a BMI >35-40 with co-morbidities
    high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritism, reflux or sleep apnea)
  • Patients between the ages of 18-65

Patients are not currently eligible if they fall into the following categories:

  • Patients on chronic high doses of steriods
  • Patients with Chron’s Disease, Lupus or other auto-immune diseases
  • Patients with previous gastrics bypass/stapling or Nissen Fundoplication
