Our Surgeon
Dr. Robert Lenington was raised in the Dallas area. He attended Texas Tech University receiving a bachelors degree in biochemistry. He then attended the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston earning his medical degree. He began his surgical internship at the University of Tulsa at Oklahoma. He was accepted to the residency program at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Florida, where he was selected to be chief resident of the department of surgery and was the only chief resident to be certified to perform the LAP- BAND procedure.
He maintains active memberships with the American College of Surgeons, where he is an associate fellow, and is Board Certified with the American Board of Surgery. He is also a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. With his extensive training in general surgery, laparoscopic surgery and endoscopy, he is among a few select surgeons that performs laparoscopic revisions of bariatric surgery in East Texas.
Dr. Lenington and his wife, Jessica, have a strong belief in family and community and relocated to Texas in Hopkins County for a safe and promising home, where they could raise their son Samuel. In an effort to improve the lives of East Texans, Dr. Lenington successfully began Lone Star Surgery. His office presents the friendly faces and qualified staff as well as the most modern techniques for procedures and the most up-to-date medical knowledge offered in East Texas.
